Christmas House Tour 2017

Welcome to The Shabby Nest
I'm so excited to have you here for this year's Christmas House Tour!

For the past several years, I have been honored to take part in the Holiday House Walk hosted by my talented friend, Jennifer Rizzo.

There are always so many insanely beautiful homes that share holiday inspiration during this tour, it is an honor to be included.

If you haven't had a chance already, please make sure you visit the house just before mine on the tour...

My children and I have been living in Hydeaway Cottage since 2014.  It is our own little haven from the hustle, bustle, and worry of the world.  And I especially love to see our little home all dressed up in her Christmas finery.

Each year, my challenge is to create a different holiday feeling using primarily the decor I already have. I add a little here and there, but what I really love, is pulling out cherished ornaments and decorations and finding a way to make them feel new and fresh.

I hope you enjoy this year's tour of Hydeaway Cottage...

MY FEATHER TREE
I handmade each of these ornaments and decided that they needed a special little spot all their own.  The feather tree was my mother's and I love that it houses these fun ornaments.   Watch for an ornament tutorial coming soon!

I've been collecting children's Christmas books since my kiddos were tiny.
These are just a few of my favorites.

And if you'd like to see the tour from the beginning, you can start with Day 1 at Jennifer Rizzo's blog.

Enjoy!
